Since October 2022, Germany has reduced VAT on the consumption of natural gas, biogas, and heat from the heating network. The CDU/CSU parliamentary group wanted to know the impact on consumers. The Federal Government referred to the BMF letter of 25.10.2022, which states that gas or heat deliveries are billed by utility companies to customers after reading periods. The BMF letter regulates no civil law issues and only binds the financial administration.
