VAT fraud in car sales: Unfair competition and manipulation of the system
The European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO) recently conducted 27 searches in France and the Netherlands as part of an investigation into VAT fraud related to car sales. The estimated damage caused by this fraudulent scheme amounts to €19 million. During the operation, four suspects were arrested, and numerous cars were seized, along with over €1 million in cash.
