- Taiwan’s Ministry of Finance has issued a notice reminding businesses to include business tax (VAT) in the pricing of taxable goods or services sold to consumers.
- The National Taxation Bureau of Taipei has stated that the price of goods or services should already include the business tax, and businesses must issue uniform invoices for reporting and payment of the tax.
- The Bureau warns that failure to include the tax in pricing and rectify the situation within the specified timeframe may result in a fine. The Bureau also urges consumers to request uniform invoices during shopping to protect their rights and interests.
