According to the Taipei National Taxation Bureau, the selling price of taxable goods or services by businesses to consumers should include the value-added tax (VAT). Some businesses have falsely claimed that the price does not include VAT, misleading consumers into waiving their right to request a unified invoice. Violators may be fined between NT$1,500 and NT$15,000. Businesses are urged to issue unified invoices and consumers are reminded to actively request them to protect their rights.
