- The EU will enforce new deforestation laws starting in 2025, requiring significant due diligence from traders. The Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) initiative will also require significant reporting from non-EU manufacturers starting in October of this year.
- Other issues covered in this edition include the reform of the EU Customs Code, the Free Trade Agreement between the EU and New Zealand, customs classifications, and the implementation of the Windsor Framework under the Northern Ireland Protocol.
- The UK will implement a plastic ban later this year and the Target Border Operating Model will change how the UK imports goods from November onwards.
