On 11 May 2023, the Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee announced a further increase in the Bank Rate by 0.25 percentage points from 4.25% to 4.5%. HMRC have issued a press release highlighting the automatic changes to interest rates for late tax payments and tax repayments as a result.
