Revenue derived from value added tax is 36.5 per cent of total revenue of the country while revenue from personal income tax and corporate income tax together account for 36.8 per cent, said a study on Thursday.
The study identified revenue collection as regressive taxation system that is giving high-income people some respite from tax, but is making low-income people poorer with the burden of VAT.
