Belgium’s Federal Public Service (SPF) Finance has issued a release providing an update on the VAT reduction on supplies of electricity, natural gas, and heat via heating networks. The release provides that households may continue to benefit from the temporary reduction in the VAT rate to 6% on such supplies until 30 June 2023. From 1 July 2023, the 6% rate on such supplies will be made permanent. For businesses, the 6% VAT rate continues to apply until 30 June 2023 on supplies of natural gas and heat via heating networks.
