Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Sweden, and the United Kingdom Northern Ireland have all responded to the EU Commission’s proposals for modernizing the EU VAT system in the digital age. Denmark conducted a public consultation and made the feedback available on the Ministry website. Finland sent a U letter to Parliament supporting the proposals but stated that details and costs still need clarification. The Netherlands government issued a decision note supporting ViDA implementation, while Sweden’s Ministry of Finance issued a factual memorandum and the Swedish Business Association published their response and commentary. The United Kingdom Northern Ireland’s HM Treasury published an explanatory memorandum summarizing proposed regulations that may require action in Northern Ireland.
