Since April 5, it has been possible to hold an EORI number on the basis of the legal entity and therefore of the SIREN number. France is thus complying with European regulations and will gradually abandon the French exception of an EORI number by SIRET (assigned to each establishment of the same legal entity).
As a reminder, importers or exporters from the European Union must have an EORI number as part of their customs clearance operations. In France, the EORI number was established on the basis of a 14-digit number corresponding to the SIRET number preceded by the mention “FR”. Each establishment of the same legal entity therefore had a separate EORI number.
