The Northern Region Taxation Bureau reminds taxpayers that the deadline for applying for a refund of excess business tax payments due to the pandemic is June 30, 2023. To help companies overcome the difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ministry of Finance issued the “Review Principles for the Application of Refund of Excess Business Tax Payments Affected by the COVID-19 Pandemic” in May 2020. The principles allow businesses that meet certain qualifications to apply for a refund of tax payments up to NTD 300,000. The Bureau has processed 2,797 cases, totaling NTD 547 million in refunds, as of the end of March 2023.
