One of the main priorities of the Ministry of Finance is the improvement of tax collection with an emphasis on effective solutions to VAT evasion.
The gap in VAT collection, the so-called VAT GAP, has remained too high for a number of years (in 2012 it reached almost 165 billion euros and in 2013 even 168 billion euros). An effective solution can be a wider use of the reverse charge method.
