On 10 March 2023, the Royal Malaysian Customs Department (RMCD) issued an announcement (available only in the Bahasa Malaysia language) on the postponement of the following three changes to the indirect tax regime, until further notice:
- The imposition of sales tax on low-value goods (LVG);
- The expansion of service tax to apply broadly to goods delivery services; and
- The expansion of excise duty to apply to certain pre-mixed preparation products.
