Businesses in agriculture and service sectors on Sunday proposed that the National Board of Revenue should offer value-added tax exemption or reduction in the national budget for forthcoming financial year 2023-24.
It suggested that the NBR should set a minimum TDS rate on payment of any contract.
It proposed offering VAT exemption at the production stage of agro processed foods like bread, biscuit and cake, and clarifying the condition of using a central BIN, and offering customs duty facilities on import of sugar, powder milk and vitamin.
