Key dates
- February 1, 2023: entry into force of the obligation relating to standard electronic accounting systems.
- October 31, 2023: standard electronic systems wishing to be registered before January 1, 2024 must notify the Danish Trade Authority.
- November 1 – December 31, 2023: the notified systems are verified and registered by the Danish Trade Authority.
- January 1, 2024: Notified systems are registered.
- 2024 (expected date): Accounting firms will have to digitize the accounting for financial years starting after July 1, 2024.
- 2026 (expected date): Sole proprietorships and certain associations will have to digitize the accounting for accounting years starting after 2026 (the exact date will be determined later)
Confirmation of the technical prerequisites is still pending. Drafts of this SAF-T system have been released with the intention of implementing this system between 2024 and 2026.
