The Sri Lankan Inland Revenue Feb. 15 announced VAT filing and payment deadlines for January 2023. The deadlines are: 1) Feb. 20, for paying VAT and VAT on financial services for January; and 2) Feb. 28, for filing monthly VAT returns. The announcement also explains tax payment procedures, and that late-payment penalties won’t be waived or reduced. The agency advises taxpayers not to wait until receiving paying-in slips to pay.
