Demand for online shopping has added pressure on developing countries to enhance their value-added tax systems, the OECD said Thursday, noting that the trend is expected to continue to at least 2025.
In 2022, the Asia-Pacific region recorded by far the most e-commerce sales, while Latin America and the Middle East and North Africa regions showed the most sales growth, according to data presented at the organization’s Tax and Development Days conference.
