In Norway, sales of electric cars are constantly increasing. In 2022, electric cars accounted for 79.3% of the sales of all new cars. Norway is undoubtedly far ahead of the majority of EU countries with regard to the sale of electric cars and the availability of charging points. However, there is considerable growth in this sector in the EU countries. In order to speed up the transition to electric cars and tackle climate change, the EU has proposed to ban the sale of new petrol and diesel cars from 2035 onwards.
