The Italian judiciary has further expanded the investigation into tax evasion by Booking.com. Recent years are also being scrutinized; it was previously announced that former top executives of the Amsterdam company will be questioned. Halfway through 2021 it turned out that Booking.com was suspected of evading 153 million euros in VAT between 2013 and 2019 after the Italian tax investigation service had investigated bed and breakfast owners in the Genoa area.
