The definition of agricultural activity contained in the provisions of the VAT Act indicates an exception, which is round wood from tropical trees and bamboo. The calculation suggests that if the wood is not round, but is from a tropical tree, it is subject to agricultural activity under VAT and must be taxed. One of our readers drew attention to the absurdity as part of the “Let’s improve the law” campaign.
