The Ministry of Finance and Public Enterprises has announced the removal of Value Added Tax (VAT) on sanitary pads with effect from 1 January 2023, when the VAT Amendment Act of 2022 comes into effect. “Registered VAT (value added tax) persons (vendors) are, therefore, reminded to adjust their sale systems in order to implement the new provision of the law, and accordingly provide the necessary relief on the costing of these products to consumers,” finance spokesperson Wilson Shikoto said on Thursday.
