Although many taxpayers face the need to settle granted or received discounts on a daily basis, not all of them know when the discounts affect the settlements related to the import of goods. However, an analysis in this regard is necessary in transactions with third countries, because the specificity of importing goods requires separate settlement of such a transaction with regard to customs duties and for VAT purposes.
