The Slovenian Financial Administration Dec. 16 clarified the obligation to calculate VAT following the cessation of taxable economic activity and the correction period for fixed assets. The clarification explains that when retaining a fixed asset for which the right to deduct VAT has been granted: 1) VAT must be calculated regardless of whether the adjustment period for the fixed asset has already expired; and 2) the tax base is the purchase price of the goods or similar goods, determined at the time the goods are withheld.
