The Danish Ministry of Taxation Dec. 13 opened a consultation on EU proposals to combat VAT fraud under the digital age initiative. The proposals include measures to: 1) introduce a new system for real-time digital reporting requirements, including e-invoicing; 2) implement a single VAT registration across the EU; and 3) update VAT rules for passenger transport and short-term accommodation platforms, including a requirement for platform economy operators to collect and remit VAT. Comments are due Jan. 23, 2023. [Denmark, Consultation Portal, 12/13/22]
