Poland’s Ministry of Finance has announced the signature of a regulation that
- extends the VAT zero rate provided for basic food products as part of the Anti-Inflation Shield. Previously extended to 31 December 2022, the zero rate for food is further extended to 30 June 2023.
- The VAT rate reductions for natural gas, fertilizers, electricity, etc., and other excise duty and sales tax relief measures are not extended beyond 31 December.
- However, the reduced VAT rate of 8% for fertilizers is reestablished for 2 years, which is the rate that applied prior to the zero rate from the Anti-Inflation Shield.
- Further, the VAT zero rate for donations to help victims of the effects of hostilities in Ukraine is extended to 30 June 2023.
