The Polish procedure for the suspension of excise duty on alcohol used in the production of medicines is in line with EU law, the Court of Justice of the European Union ruled on Thursday. Thus, such alcohol, although in principle not subject to this tax, will still be subject to formalized import procedures. The EC’s complaint, as unfounded, was dismissed in its entirety.
