Parliament passes GST hike but DPM Wong keeps open possibility of review if S’pore economy suffers ‘severe impact’ in 2023

The Government will continue with its plans to increase the Goods and Services Tax (GST) to 9 per cent in 2024, but will carefully review and consider whether to go ahead with that if “downside risk were to materialise and our economy is severely impacted” next year, Finance Minister Lawrence Wong said.
