On 24 October 2022, the EU Council adopted a single window for customs, which is intended to make trade with the EU easier by reducing administration and saving time, and also to reduce the risk of fraud. When implemented, the single window will enable businesses to submit customs documents through one portal, and customs and other authorities will be able to verify automatically that goods comply with EU requirements and that the necessary formalities have been completed.
