The introduction of a reporting system to reduce VAT abuse depends on numerous factors and in particular on European regulation. Therefore, there is no concrete timetable for the intended implementation of a national reporting system, according to the response from the Federal Government (20/4181 ) to a small request from the CDU/CSU parliamentary group (20/3899 ). The Federal Government intends to constructively support the deliberations at EU level and to commit itself to implementation as quickly as possible. Because this is not just about bureaucratic efficiency and digital transformation, but also about curbing tax fraud.
