- VAT e-invoicing and e-reporting
In 2021, the finance minister presented plans to introduce mandatory e-invoicing for domestic business-to-business (B2B) transactions by Belgian established taxpayers. The e-invoicing obligation is expected to apply as from July 2024; no date has yet been announced for the e-reporting obligation.
- Excise taxes on tobacco and new products
Following the example of other European Union member states, Belgium also is preparing to introduce excise taxes on new tobacco products and e-liquids, as well as increasing existing excise taxes on tobacco products.
