On 21 October 2022, State Secretary Van Rij (Fiscality and Tax Authorities) answered the written questions from Member of Parliament Nijboer (PvdA) about the message in the NRC ‘Belastingdienst, be transparent about tax rules’ (2022Z17157) about not publishing knowledge group views.
According to the State Secretary, when implementing legislation and regulations, the Tax and Customs Administration is faced with choices on a daily basis when applying these to individual taxpayers. If questions arise about how a certain legal rule should be interpreted and applied, a knowledge group of the Tax and Customs Administration will look into this.
