The receipt lottery is a government initiative scheme that is currently in use in many so-called fiscal countries. It is an economic tool designed to combat tax evasion through the issuance of receipts in business-to-consumer transactions. Plainly, consumers are motivated to ask for receipts in their transactions with the possibility of entering a lottery draw and possibly winning attractive prizes.
