The decision of the European Council which authorized the Italian government to extend the limitation to 40 per cent of deductible VAT for cars used in business or professional activities is due to expire at the end of December 2022. Italy has requested a further three-year extension of the derogation measures, also applicable to vehicles granted as benefits to employees free of charge and not also to those made available for a specific fee, the VAT of which remains fully deductible.
