During the vote of September 25, 2022, both the amendment to the AVS law and the federal decree on the additional financing of the AVS by means of a VAT increase were accepted. Consequently, the normal rate will be raised to 8.1%, the special rate for accommodation will increase to 3.8% and the reduced rate will now be 2.6%. The entry into force is scheduled for January 1, 2024. The Federal Council should decide on this in December.
