From September 1, 2022 to December 31, 2024, hotels and restaurants will be subject to a reduced value-added tax (VAT) rate.
On August 12, 2022, Peru’s President enacted Law 31556, establishing a temporary VAT rate reduction for activities conducted by restaurants and hotels. According to the law, the purpose of the temporary VAT rate reduction is to promote the economic reactivation of the hospitality sector.
