The main legislative framework is Decree-Law No. 152-D/2017 of 11 December 2017, which was recently amended by Decree-Law No. 86/2020 of 14 October 2020. This decree-law foresees the main aspects concerning several activities including the transport, elimination and recovery of packaging and plastics.
Another relevant text is Ministerial Order No. 202/2019 of 3 July 2019 (mentioned below), which concerns the pilot project of a deposit return system.
