On 23 August 2022, the CIOT issued a press release advising that the Institute’s President has written to Rishi Sunak and Liz Truss setting out the CIOT’s views on what should be the new Prime Minister’s priorities for the tax system, namely: sustained investment in HMRC to improve performance, a review of existing digitalisation plans, and a more ambitious tax simplification agenda.
