FTA has issued Decision No. 6 of 2022 which restricts the maximum cash refund of Value Added Tax under the Tax Refunds for Tourists Scheme shall be AED 35,000 per overseas tourist per 24 hours.
Further, the FTA has clarified any provision contrary to or inconsistent with the provisions of this Decision, as well as the Federal Tax Authority Decision No. 1 of 2019 on the maximum amount of cash refund under the Refunds of Value Added Tax for Tourists Scheme, shall be abrogated.
The decision is effective from 1 September 2022.
