On 25 July 2022, Italy published the Decree of 19 July 2022 from the Ministry of Economy and Finance, which extends the reduction in the excise duty rates on different fuels, as well as the reduction in the VAT rate to 5% on natural gas used for transport. The reduced excise duty and VAT rates were originally provided from 3 May 2022 until 8 July 2022 and subsequently extended to 2 August 2022 by the Decree of 24 June 2022. With the Decree of 19 July 2022, the reduced rates are further extended to 21 August 2022.
