The “fire fee” rate increases to 9% (from 5%), effective 1 October 2022.
As explained in a release from the government, the “fire fee” is an amount that is paid from the insurance premium that an insurance policy holder pays to the insurance company pursuant to an insurance contract issued against fire risk.
