On June 24, 2022, Costa Rica’s General Customs Directorate reopened the Customs Information System (TICA), which was shut down for two months following a cyberattack on the Ministry of Finance’s platforms.
To transition from the temporary system used during the shut-down, the General Customs Directorate established mandatory compliance guidelines that TICA users must follow when transmitting various customs declarations.
