CCS is often cited as a crucial technology for the world to achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement. The proposal that the Directorate of Taxes is now sending out for consultation means that all CO2 from mineral products that are captured and stored permanently is exempt from tax. The proposal also involves some minor adjustments to the existing exemption for CCS in the tax on waste incineration.
