The government anticipates an extension of the 9% VAT rate due to the COVID-19 pandemic. There are lots of insolvencies and even withdrawals of support. Plans were forwarded to the Cabinet on the measures after discussions by coalition party leaders. But the extension should only last until the end of the year because a shorter extension will cost less money.
