Billing is expensive. The Administrative Simplification Service (DAV) calculated that switching from a paper invoice to an invoice via e-mail results in a saving of 2.78 euros on an average cost of 12.08 euros. By going even further and automating the system, a saving of the same amount of 9 euros is possible, the DAV calculated.
If paper invoices were completely replaced by digital invoices, the administrative burden for our companies would be EUR 3.37 less. To achieve this, the N-VA wants to legally anchor electronic invoices between companies (B2B) through an amendment to the law of 2 August 2002 on combating late payment in commercial transactions.
To ensure a sufficiently long transition period, companies would have until January 1, 2025 to adapt. Micro-enterprises would be exempted from the obligation.
