Indonesia has published Regulation No. 60/PMK.03/2022, which updates and replaces Regulation No. 48/PMK.03/2020 for the regulation of the collection of VAT on digital goods and services sold to consumers in Indonesia. The regulation is effective from 1 April 2022. One of the main changes concerns the applicable VAT rate that must be collected, which is increased from 10% to 11% effective from 1 April 2022, with a further increase to 12% according to the VAT Law. Although not stated in the new regulation, the increase to 12% is scheduled to take effect on 1 January 2025. Otherwise, Regulation No. 60/PMK.03/2022 is largely in line with the prior regulation, with some adjustments to clarify certain aspects, including the information to be reported on transactions.
