After the outcome of the conference on the Future of Europe and the European Parliament, the President of the European Commission also announced on 9 May that he wanted to remove parts of the veto right of Member States: “For example, I have always argued that unanimity voting in some key areas simply no longer makes sense if we want to be able to move faster.”
The ball is now in the court of the European Council.
