In an interview on TV24, Prime Minister Krisjanis Karins said that with a reduction in the VAT rate, there is no guarantee that the buyer will feel the price drop, given that sellers, intermediaries and manufacturers will try to maintain their profits. He also mentioned that the VAT reduction is not targeted assistance and that this assistance is disproportionately beneficial to those members of society who spend more money on a daily basis.
