On March 31, 2022, the Royal Decree of March 9, 2022 was published in the Belgian Official Gazette laying down the modalities regarding the obligation for entrepreneurs in the field of electronic invoicing in the context of government contracts and concession agreements.
Since 1 April 2019, procurers are obliged to receive and process electronic invoices that entrepreneurs send them.
The Royal Decree of 9 March 2022 obliges entrepreneurs to send their invoice electronically in the context of government contracts and concession agreements. In principle, this obligation does not apply to public contracts and concessions whose estimated value is less than or equal to EUR 3,000 excluding VAT.
