The federal government does not consider a reduction in the VAT rate for baby and child care products to be effective in relieving families. “If the sales tax rates are reduced, it cannot be guaranteed that this will result in a price reduction,” writes the federal government in a response ( 29/939 ) to an AfD inquiry ( 20/804 ).
