The import of goods needed to combat the effects of the coronavirus epidemic will be exempt from taxes and exempt from VAT on imports until June 30, 2022, according to a draft order prepared by the Ministry of Finance. The order, which includes the list of goods that can be imported under the exemption regime, is necessary after Romania requested and received from the European Commission the possibility to extend this facility, which would otherwise have expired at the end of last year.
